Midtown crash leaves 1 hurt when van careens into scaffolding

MIDTOWN (WABC) -- A van plowed into a scaffolding in Midtown Monday morning, injuring one person.

The accident happened around 10:40 a.m. at 58th Street and 10th Avenue.

The scaffolding surrounds John Jay College, and the accident happened near the school's main entrance.

One person, believed to be the driver, was taken across the street to Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating how the accident happened.

The Fire Department says no evacuations were necessary.
