89-year-old woman found dead after fire in Bay Ridge

BAY RIDGE (WABC) -- Firefighters found the body of an elderly woman after a fire Sunday night in Brookyn.

At about 8 p.m., authorities responded to a call of a fire at 546 77th St. in Bay Ridge.

After putting out the fire, the FDNY found 89-year old Kathryn Johnson unconscious and unresponsive.

She was pronounced dead at Lutheran Medical Center.

There's no official word on how she died.

The fire marshal deemed the fire accidental, caused by a lamp cord.
