A 36‑year‑old woman was found dead with her throat slit inside her Bay Ridge home Saturday morning, leaving a tight‑knit neighborhood shaken.
Police said the force of the impact was so great the woman was hurled partly under a parked car and her shoes were knocked off.
Police say the crash was designed to get insurance money, but also eventually makes the victim's insurance more expensive.
Up until Thursday, Nedal Kifayeh could see a bright future ahead. Now, the 30-year-old is not even sure if he will see again out of one of his eyes.
The 74-year-old victim was crossing Ridge Boulevard in the crosswalk, west to east, when he was struck at Bay Ridge Avenue just after 8:55 p.m. Wednesday.
The mayor said that they are looking into the actions of three of four officers and they will investigate.
