Suspect arrested for allegedly stabbing cab driver in neck in Yonkers

YONKERS (WABC) -- Police arrested a suspect in the stabbing and robbery of a livery cab driver in Yonkers.

62-year-old Pedro Estrada is charged with assault and robbery.

Police say he was riding in a cab last Wednesday when he attacked the driver, Christian Rosa Amparo, severing an artery.

When Amparo ran to a nearby hospital for help, Estrada allegedly stole his cab.

Amparo was hospitalized in critical condition, but he is expected to recover.
