THE BRONX (WABC) -- Friday was the start of a new tradition ahead of the Puerto Rican Day Parade.
It was the first annual 'Noche Borinquena,' a night in the Bronx to celebrate Puerto Rican culture.
The event included special recognition for notable Puerto Ricans who call New York City home.
Mayor Eric Adams was there, spoke to the group, and mingled with the crowd.
