CHELSEA (WABC) -- A cabbie is scoring discount digs for life through a legal loophole.
The driver spent just one night at the Chelsea High Line Hotel when he submitted a request to become a permanent tenant. From a decades-old classification of the hotel, that made him entitled to become a permanent tenant for only $236 a month. (Yes, that's right!)
It turns out the hotel is reportedly partnering with an organization to convert low-cost housing, however, rents will still be quite a bit higher than what the cabbie is paying.
