EAST SIDE (WABC) -- Police are searching for a man who attempted an armed robbery at a bank on Manhattan's East Side this week.
Investigators say he entered the Bank of America branch at 1134 Lexington Avenue Tuesday at about noon. The suspect, seen on surveillance video, went to the teller window where he displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and passed a demand note to the teller.
The teller walked away from the window, hit the silent alarm and the suspect fled the location without any money.
The suspect is described as a male white, approximately 5'9" in height, 200 pounds, last seen wearing a black fisherman hat, black sunglasses, blue plaid shirt, and carrying a black knapsack.
