Truck's top sheared off after hitting overpass, LIRR impactedA truck struck an LIRR overpass in Garden City Monday morning.

GARDEN CITY, Nassau County -- A truck struck an LIRR overpass on Long Island Monday morning, shearing off the top of the vehicle.

The over-height vehicle struck the bridge near Cherry Valley Road in Garden City just before 7 a.m.

The truck has been removed from the overpass.

The LIRR was operating at reduced speeds as a precaution.

Customers were advised to expect 5 to 10 minute delays through Garden City.
