NYPD: 15-year-old stabbed in Washington Heights

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, N.Y. (WABC) -- A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the back several times Tuesday afternoon.

Around 3:30 p.m., while on the 500 block of West 184 Street in Washington Heights, the suspect approached the victim and stabbed him several times in the back, according to the New York City Police Department.

The suspect fled. The motive is unclear. The victim was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, and between 16- and 19-years-old. He was last seen wearing a red baseball cap and a dark T-shirt.
