NEW YORK (WABC) -- Conditions flip dramatically heading into midweek.

Wednesday stands out as the pick of the week, bringing a beautiful turnaround with plenty of sunshine, lowering humidity, and a refreshing northwest breeze. The region can expect a gorgeous day, with comfortable conditions that make being outdoors ideal.

The stretch of quieter weather continues into Thursday with a mix of sun and clouds. While most of the day remains dry, there is a chance of a spot shower in the afternoon, especially farther west. The better chance for precipitation arrives later, as a few showers or even a thunderstorm could develop Thursday night into Friday morning.

Heading into the weekend, conditions remain somewhat unsettled. Friday is expected to feature plenty of clouds and limited sunshine, with an occasional shower or thunderstorm possible. It won't be a washout, but showers could pop up at various times, especially early and late in the day. Clouds linger into Saturday morning, leading to a sluggish start before gradual improvement later in the day.

At this point, Sunday is shaping up to be the better half of the weekend. Warmer temperatures in the mid-80s combined with improving conditions should make for a great day for outdoor plans, including the Pride March.

The warming trend continues into early next week, with sunshine on Monday and continued warm conditions into Tuesday, though there may be an uptick in afternoon cloud cover by then.
