Chemical explosion in New Jersey

One person was injured in an explosion at a chemical manufacturing laboratory in Branchburg this morning. Eyewitness News is told the worker was burned to the arms and hands inside Voltaix, Inc. at 197 Meister Avenue. The victim was to be transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital.

Officials say the worker was apparently injured in an explosion of aluminum hydroxide.

Voltaix is a chemical manufacturing laboratory founded in 1986.
