The violence broke out inside an apartment on Avenue X in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.
Inside the apartment, there was a bloodbath with all the signs of a violent, prolonged fight. Detectives believe the 46-year-old woman and her younger friend were together when they were both stabbed multiple times.
The 26-year-old was removed from the scene, also bleeding from several stab wounds all over his body. He was barely conscious when he was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Neighbors say the couple and the man critically wounded seemed like they were all friends. They say she was devoted to taking care of her 19-year-old daughter, who is wheelchair bound and suffers from downs syndrome. The teen was at school when her mother was killed.
The alleged attacker, a 37-year-old man, was taken into custody at the scene. Police tell Eyewitness News' Nina Pineda the suspect is the husband of the woman who was stabbed to death.
