Historic Meth Bust in New Jersey

Newark Prosecutors say DEA task force agents confiscated 165 pounds of the drug known as "ice." It has a street value of about 11 million dollars. The bust was the result of a joint effort of the DEA New Jersey Division, Passaic County Prosecutor's Office and the Passaic County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators made the find inside a tractor trailer driven by Alberto Olguin along Interstate 80 in West Paterson on Monday. He reportedly tried to conceal the drugs inside plastic food storage containers.

Authorities say Olguin has been identified as a member of a mexican based international narcotics organization that uses its members to transport illegal drugs into the United States.

Olguin was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. He is being held on 5 million dollars bail. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.

The investigation is ongoing.
