Motorcycle rider killed by falling branch
CONNECTICUT Putnam County Undersheriff Peter Convery says Eugene Wolfthall,
of New Milford, was riding on Route 9 on Sunday when the large
branch fell and hit him in the head as he passed the Garrison
firehouse. The undersheriff says Wolfthall was killed instantly in
the freak mishap, and his motorcycle continued riderless for a
quarter of a mile.
