The boy was taken to Brookdale Hospital with multiple fractures to both legs and trauma to the chest and head.
According to witnesses, the boy initially told police he was thrown off the roof. However, that is under investigation.
The building superintendent said the teen could not have accessed the roof without the alarm sounding.
