She was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Detectives plan to interview the woman at the hospital. Neighbors said she was walking home from the hospital, where she works as a nurse.
No arrests were immediately made.
Police say the attack is not part of either pattern of sexual assaults that have frightened residents of Southeast Queens.
