Deadly hit and run in Queens

QUEENS - The incident happened in the 94-hundred block of 76th Street in Queens around 7:30 Tuesday night.

According to investigators, a 2003 white Lincoln was traveling southbound on 76th Street when the driver was pushed out of the car.

A woman passenger then hopped in the driver's seat and fled, witnesses told Eyewitness News.

The Lincoln plowed into several other vehicles on the street, before driving away.

The man who was pushed from the car was then struck by a black vehicle that had been traveling behind the Lincoln, witnesses said.

The victim, a 56-year-old man, was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police sources told Eyewitness News that investigators were looking into the possibility that the Lincoln had been carjacked.

Police found the Lincoln several blocks from the crime scene at 87th Street and 101st Avenue, but no sign of the driver or the other vehicle.
