Boil water advisory lifted in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, N.J. A boil water advisory has been lifted in the neighborhood where a water main broke early Tuesday.

City officials lifted the advisory Thursday afternoon.

About 35,000 people were affected by the water main break at 18th and Washington streets.

Jersey City Police spokesman Edgar Martinez said the pipe was repaired and full water service was restored by late Wednesday night.

Investigators have removed the damaged pipe to be analyzed to determine the cause of the break.
