District officials believe fewer than 10 of the district's 35 Jewish students were actually struck, including one student who was slapped in the face.
The situation apparently grew out of an unofficial "Spirit Week" among sixth graders. It went from "Hug a Friend Day," to "High Five Day, and then allegedly went in a different direction.
District officials say any student who struck one of the classmates could face suspension. Officials with the Anti-Defamation League plan to meet tomorrow with district leaders to discuss the matter.
