The perfect New Year's kiss

NEW YORK "Look at each other in the eyes get ready and just start on the lips softly," kissing expert and author Andrea Demirjian said.

Demirjian, who wrote the book Kissing, shared her tips with the dozens of couples who packed Times Square to close their eyes and lock lips for a New Year's Eve practice smooch.

"That was a light, delicious kiss so you both get top marks for that," she told one couple.

As the couples puckered up and the kissing continued, so did the coaching.

When the ball drops in Times Square marking 2009, couples should all kiss tenderly, she says. Demirjian believes everyone can do it just right if they enjoy the moment.

Angela Sytko, Trey Brisley, and Amy Beiler were the kissing trio at Friday's practice. It seems Trey was an expert himself, offering a few of his own tips.

"Slow, soft then work it up to a kiss," he explained.

Andrea says floss and gloss are two must's. She also suggests waiting until midnight to make that New Year's Eve kiss extra special.

We all know the age old saying practice makes perfect, and these couples have 5 more days to get it right.
