Coach allegedly rewards athlete with alcohol

PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y Suffolk County police say Steven Lamensdorf has been released on $500 bond after his arrest Tuesday on charges of child endangerment and unlawfully dealing with a child.

Police say the 22-year-old gave the teenager the Malibu rum on Friday. She has since been treated and released from a hospital.

Police say Spins Gymnastics Academy, in Port Jefferson, fired Lamensdorf over the incident.

Telephone messages left at the academy and Lamensdorf's Mount Sinai home Tuesday evening haven't immediately been returned.

Police aren't sure whether he has a lawyer.
