Suspect shot and killed by NYPD

Authorities say police fatally shot the driver of a Cadillac in upper Manhattan after a chase that slightly injured a pedestrian and motorcyclist. The incident Wednesday night began after a pedestrian reported that the people in the car had robbed him.

As police there began to investigate, the Cadillac sped away and struck a motorcycle; it got stuck under the car and was dragged.

Then the driver reversed, apparently trying to dislodge the motorcycle, and hit a pedestrian.

The department says more officers arrived, identified themselves and ordered the suspect to stop. It's not clear whether he did.

Gunfire erupted, and the unidentified driver was pronounced dead at a hospital.
