Investigators released the surveillance video of the man during a recent break in.
The day before Thanksgiving the suspect robbed a store. The day after Thankgsgiving he broke into a barbershop.
"We have a magnet on the top so he was not able to come inside," employee Maria Siunoda.
He has been targeting small commercial businesses mainly on the Upper West Side.
"What he does is he goes to the scene of a commercial establishment after midnight. Then he takes out the cylinder and he takes property from the enclosed location," Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.
Initially, police thought the suspect was only repsonsible for seven burglaries. But now, police believe he is responsible for at least 22 burglaries in the last few weeks.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 25-30 years old, 5'6", weighing 165-210 lbs with dark colored hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a blue baseball style jacket, blue baseball cap, with a light colored (hooded) sweatshirt, with a gray 3/4 length coat with dark colored jeans and boots.
Anyone with information in regards to these incidents is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
