DA: NY homicide probe results in scam indictments

NEW YORK Prosecutor Charles J. Hynes said Monday that four people and three corporations have been indicted. The charges include money laundering, mortgage fraud and identity theft.

The 18-month investigation started with the July, 2008 killings of attorney Mark Schwartz and his wife, Christina Petrowski.

It's believed they had participated in the scams.

Neighbors in the quiet Marine Park neighborhood were shocked when the two were found executed in their bed.

The prosecutor says the scams cheated victims in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Westchester County, New Jersey and Delaware.
