Shots fired outside Jersey City nightclub

JERSEY CITY

No injuries were reported, but authorities say more arrests could be made. The names of the officer and the suspects were not released, and specific details on the charges were not immediately disclosed.

Lt. Edgar Martinez, a police spokesman, said the officer was on patrol in his car with his police dog when he heard multiple shots fired around 3:15 a.m.

The officer then released his dog, Frodo, which helped subdue one suspect.

That suspect suffered some bite wounds.

One handgun was recovered at the scene, and authorities were searching for at least one more weapon.
