Frightening and violent home invasion on LI

A frightening home invasion on Long Island during the night involved seven to eight armed intruders.

Police in Patchogue say the men smashed their way into a home on Amity Street around midnight.

Neighbors reportedly heard lots of gunfire.

One woman in the house was pistol whipped.

The robbers cleared out before police arrived.

They allegedly got away with jewelry and $1,200 in cash.
