Downed wires affecting Amtrak, NJ Transit service

December 9, 2010 4:31:27 AM PST
Amtrak has a downed overhead wire on track 2, the inbound express track, somewhere east of Princeton, possibly South Brunswick.

The downed wire is also blocking tracks 1 and 3 at that location. As a result, only track 4, the westbound local track, is available on the section of tracks between Trenton and New Brunswick.

There is currently no service for customers originating at the Trenton, Hamilton or Princeton Junction stations.

Trains originating in New Brunswick or points north are not affected.

Additionally, Amtrak Northeast Corridor trains are not expected to experience significant delay, because they will have priority on the open track.
