Police search for missing Indiana student from Edgemont

SCARSDALE, New York

The desperate pleas of an anguished mother are part of the growing search for /*Lauren Spierer*/ of /*Edgemont*/.

Today Robert and Charlene Spierer joined three separate searches for their 20-year-old daughter throughout the college town of /*Bloomington*/, /*Indiana*/, where the fashion and merchandising major just finished her sophomore year.

Lauren was last seen about 4:30 Friday morning, just three blocks from her off-campus apartment.

"If we knew anything we would have found her by now. There's not too much information to tell. I wish there was but there are really no leads," said roommate Hadar Tamir.

To help generate some leads, family and friends have turned to the internet. A webpage urges viewers to pass along information to the police. A Facebook page titled 'Missing - Lauren Spierer' is filled with prayers and messages to the family.

"We certainly think there could be foul play. She had done some partying. It's pretty common in this town. I'd have to say there's no revelation but we're still looking for that," said Bill Parker, with the Bloomington Police Department.

Back at the Spierer's home in Edgemont, Lauren's aunt spoke with local police. Off-camera she told us the family greatly appreciates the prayer's for Lauren who graduated from /*Edgemont High School*/ in 2009.
