New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has signed an executive order postponing Halloween until Monday.

Christie delayed trick-or-treating on Wednesday because he says it's not safe in the wake of damage from Sandy.

The governor says children would face flooding, fallen trees downed power lines and power outages.

A state of emergency still exists in New Jersey because of the storm.

Some communities were planning to go ahead with trick-or-treating on Wednesday and others have moved the even to the coming weekend. It's not clear how many will heed the governor's call to switch to Monday.
