Justin Waller, 31, waived extradition from Vermont.
He is expected back in the state by the end of the week.
Waller is accused of fatally stabbing 41 year old Jonathan Lea.
Lea was found by friends last Thursday with his throat slashed and a massive gash on his head.
Waller is expected to be charged with second degree murder.
No word on a motive.
