Yonkers apartment shootout leaves 2 dead, 4 hurt

YONKERS

Police say a total of six people were shot overnight at the Cromwell Towers apartment building, located at 77 Locust Hill Avenue, near City Hall.

Authorities were first called just after 1 a.m. and responded to reports of several people shot inside the building and in the parking garage. Police were directed to a 9th floor apartment, where several victims were found. As ambulance personnel treated and transported victims to local area hospitals, two of the victims were pronounced dead.

The deceased were identified as 21-year-old Kasheem Little and 23-year-old Carlton McLeod. A 5-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, and a 17-year-old girl was shot in the chest and leg. Also, a 33-year-old man was hit in the shoulder, arm and torso, and a 56-year-old man was shot in the left arm and lower back/hip area. All four are listed in stable condition.

Friends say Little was no stranger to violence. He was paralized from the waist down after being shot multiple times in 2007. He had reportedly sworn off gang life, but he was known as Killa Kash and was allegedly the leader of a gang called the Strip Boyz.

Yonkers Detectives are actively investigating the crime, and the initial investigation revealed that three males were seen running from the scene.

Anyone who may have additional information regarding this shooting is encouraged to call the Yonkers Police Detective Division at 914-377-7724. All call will remain anonymous.
