A grand jury indicted 32-year-old Roberto Fuentes, of Medford.
Prosecutors say he was driving drunk with his lights off when he ignored a stop sign, slammed into another car and hit a child in Bellport.
The 9-year-old boy was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk.
Police say fuentes drove off, but was arrested a short time later.
The boy is expected to survive.
