The incident happened Thursday night on Maple Street and Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights.
Detectives say a 16-year-old boy, identified as Kurton Grant, was killed after being shot once in the chest.
The other boy, who is 15, was rushed to the hospital. He is recovering Friday after being shot once in the back.
Police have not yet released a motive or made any arrests.
