It happened at 93rd Street and Columbus Avenue sometime around 3 p.m.
68-year-old Margaret Fisher was struck by a car that fled the scene.
Fisher was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital where she was later died.
Police say a Good Samaritan chased after the car driven by 24-year-old Jessica Altruz.
Altruz came to a stop a block later.
Altruz was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
