Joseph Rodriguez received the maximum sentence Monday of 25 years to life for the murder of Asia Perez.
The toddler was staying with him in New Paltz in 2012 when she was killed.
Prosecutors say Rodriguez tried to make it look like an intruder did it.
He was convicted back in November.
