New York City skyline dims as part of 'Earth Hour' to raise awareness for environment

NEW YORK

The Empire State Building and Times Square are just a few of the landmark locations across the world who turned off the lights as part of "Earth Hour".

The annual event draws attention to climate change and the environment.

Organizers encouraged people to participate in Earth Hour by turning off all non-essential power for an entire hour.
