LONG ISLAND (WABC) -- Join ABC7NY and the Eyewitness News team for our 2024 edition of "Kickoff to a Long Island Summer."
Our team of Long Island reporters take you to the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach for all the high-flying stunts. Plus, get ready to experience the thrill of taking flight with the US Navy Blue Angels aviation team.
The special will re-air on Sunday morning at 11:00 on Channel 7 and wherever you stream ABC 7 New York.

We share tips about the 20th anniversary of the Bethpage Air Show, plus show you other places to explore on Long Island all summer long.
If you want an adventure, visit the Long Island Skydiving Center in Shirley. It specializes in tandem skydiving, where an expert is strapped to your back and they do all the important stuff to keep you safe.
If you prefer your adventures to remain on the ground, then maybe RPM Raceway is for you. It is located in East Farmingdale, New York. You race the Italian-made vehicles on European-style tracks. There are 2 quarter mile long tracks full of hairpin turns. You'll also find virtual reality battles and arcade games to help tap all your adventure-loving buttons.
For the more athletic adventurer, you may want to consider trapeze classes offered at "I Fly Trapeze." Their mission is to introduce children and adults to the amazing world of trapeze flying. Check their website to determine a location and pricing.
If you prefer outdoors, Wildplay Element Parks at Jones Beach has a high-wire adventure course and zip line.
Farmingdale's Adventure Land amusement park has been entertaining families since 1962. It features 30 fun and exciting rides and attractions for kids of all ages.
We also visit Emmett Ohara, who traded a 30-year career in finance for a new calling: oyster farming.
His Shamrock Oyster Farm is located 3 and a half miles south of Bay Shore in the Great South Bay. He's cultivating between 200 and 250 thousand oysters in certified waters leased from the town of Islip.
And we'll look at efforts to protect Fire Island. Over the past couple of years, increasingly powerful storms have battered the island, washing away dunes and eroding any protection.
