Simply NY: How much do you know about Broadway?

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Broadway is Simply New York, but how much do you know about one of the city's most visited places?

The famous Manhattan street has become a worldwide leader in stage entertainment that dates back to the 1700s.

The first New York City stage was built on Massau Street, holding fewer than 300 people and presenting mostly Shakespearean plays.

Today, there are more than 40 Broadway theaters hosting some of the biggest names in show business and some of the greatest plays and musicals in the world.
