17 injured in school bus accident on Long Island

EAST MEADOW, New York -- More than dozen people were injured after a school bus was involved in an accident on Long Island.

The accident took place on Hempstead Turnpike & Newbridge Road in East Meadow.

At least 17 people were transported to local hospitals for evaluation.

14 kids were on the bus from Holy Trinity High School. 3 other people were also transported from the scene with minor injuries.

The accident happened at 3:20 p.m.
