West Village elevator malfunctions; Several rescued

WEST VILLAGE (WABC) -- The FDNY is at an apartment building where several people became trapped inside of an elevator after some type of malfunction in the West Village.

The incident took place at 56 West 11th Street.

The conditions of the victims is not known at this time, but at least two people were taken from the scene on stretchers. Both were alert and conscious, and transporting them to the hospital seemed precautionary.
