Review: "Run All Night"

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Liam Neeson's action roles in particular tend to blend together, but each has been successful enough that he keeps on coming - now playing a hit man who must 'Run All Night'.

Jimmy Conlon's devotion to his old pal, a mobster played by Ed Harris does not help him in this situation.

Father and son have long been estranged, but the murder leaves both on the run together, and Michael's family in jeopardy.

Nobody is too likeable, but the actors are good enough together to keep me interested, and watching the dark story play out in Queens and Midtown added to its appeal, especially after Common shows up as a hit man trying to kill father and son.

Another critic complained "Run All Night" features nonstop action, so why is that a problem? Oscar season is over and I don't mind. Mindless - if the ride is wild enough.

Yes, it is violent, and yes, the story has been told many, many times before. You don't really learn enough about these characters, but it is a really fun movie, and I am more than happy to recommend it if you are willing to check your mind a the door.
