Young girl dies in NJ Turnpike crash

NEW JERSEY State Police said a woman lost control of a BMW around 12:30 p.m. as she was heading south on the Turnpike, not far from Exit 8 in East Windsor.

She drove up an embankment and into an overpass.

The woman, who was not identified, was taken to Capital Health System's Fuld hospital in Trenton. State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones said she was in serious condition.

The name of the girl who perished was not immediately released.

A younger child in the car was uninjured, Jones said.
