Ex-boyfriend charged in Mastic murder

MASTIC Suffolk County police say 42-year-old Guenter Wende was charged with second-degree murder in Laura Pizzini's death. He is expected to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon at First District Court in Central Islip.

The young woman's body was found Friday by a relative who went to her apartment in Mastic to check on her welfare.

Police say Wende had a brief relationship with Pizzini in July and was not willing to let the relationship end after she had moved on.
