The victim, identified as 55-year-old Gary Johnson, was struck on Montauk Highway around 6:30 a.m.
Johnson, who was reportedly crossing the road, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, and no charges were immediately filed.
Montauk Highway was closed in both directions for the investigation.
