Fire rips through home in Union, NJ

A fire tore through a home in Union, New Jersey Wednesday.

Firefighters in Union, New Jersey had a difficult time battling a 4-alarm fire.

The house, a two and a half story family house was evacuated.

The fire began in the basement and quickly shot up to the roof of the home on 1016 Potter Ave.

The fire is on a small street, and firefighters struggled with the cold weather to put out the fire.

One firefighter was injured and taken to the hospital for surgery.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
