Photos: Strong winds topple gas station pumping station roof in Queens; damage throughout area
FRESH MEADOWS, Queens (WABC) -- Strong winds caused the roof of a pumping station at a gas station in Queens to topple Monday morning.
It happened at a Gulf filling station near Horace Harding Expressway and Fresh Meadow Lane in Fresh Meadows.
The cover nearly flipped upside down and was hanging sideways.

Gas for the pumps was shut off as a precaution.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Earlier, in Lower Manhattan, glass rained onto Church Street after at least one window scattered on the Millennium Hilton Hotel.
"I would say it's weather related. We have had a lot of these in the area all through Manhattan," said Chief Rom Schmutzler, FDNY, Chief in the first battalion. "Wind has died down now, but it was pretty strong in the area earlier. We had a scaffolding incident right around the corner earlier. We had bricks falling from the building."
Meanwhile, roof scaffolding at 250 Broadway was compromised and had to be secured by the FDNY.
Damage in Queens came as no surprise, considering nearby LaGuardia Airport registered a wind gust of 61 mph. A large tree was uprooted in the Richmond Hills neighborhood.
Farther east onto Long Island, much of a home in Glen Cove was crushed by a large tree. Trees falling in New Jersey ripped off a corner of a house in Saddle Brook, caused power outages in Cliffside Park, and suspended service into NJ Transit.
