NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- A closely divided Congress returns to Washington this week to tackle a list of difficult hot-button issues.
Among them, what to do about the migrant crisis at the southern border and the impact that is having on New York and several other cities.
There's also a battle over more funding for Ukraine in its war against Russia and military aid to Israel following the October terror attack, and how to pay for all that.
If that wasn't enough, the deadline to reach a budget agreement to avoid a partial government shutdown is now less than two weeks away.
We talk to two members of Congress from our area:
Democrat Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey, a former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot who is on the House Armed Services Committee, and Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis, the only Republican member from New York City who serves on the House Ways and Means Committee.
Up Close airs Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. on Channel 7, WABC-TV in New York City.
