Fatal hit and run on the Meadowbrook

CARLE PLACE Eyewitness News is told the victim was hit on the southbound roadway, north of the M1 exit at Old Country Road, just before 12:45 a.m.

He was pronounced dead shortly after the crash.

The driver left the scene. There was no immediate description of the vehicle.

The southbound Meadowbrook Parkway was closed for six hours for the ensuing investigation.
