Teen girl attacked, beaten in LI home

GREAT NECK The incident happened in Great Neck.

Police say the girl was assaulted during a violent burglary. She reportedly suffered bruises to her face, a broken nose and what authorities describe as "significant facial trauma."

No arrests have been made.

"We weren't really able to speak to her very much at all," Detective Lieutenant Keechant Sewell told Newsday.

Authorities were trying to determine what, if anything, was stolen from the home.

The incident happened between 9 p.m. Monday and 1 a.m. Tuesday. The teen had reportedly been staying with relatives while her parents were out of town. She was dropped off earlier in the evening, and her parents came home to find her beaten.
