Eyewitness News is told the break happened around 3:30 a.m. this morning near the intersection of River Road and Mercer Road.
The emergency crew has managed to shut water off to the affected area.
Meanwhile, officials say customers in the area may experience discolored water and lower than normal water pressure until the water is isolated near the main break.
As for traffic -- the Hackensack Police have closed River Road at the intersection of River and Mercer.
